Vijil is a well known denizen of The Studio. Starting as a somewhat annoying pleb with a talent for drawing, he gradually worked his way up the social ladder, eventually becoming a moderator of a number of the forums including the early Dawn of War forum. He hasn't been seen on the forums for some time now, lurking in the shadows if he even appears at all. He is most famous for his work in the Dom face-off competition and more recently for an article on Relicnews about his Warhammer 40k miniature army.
Recently he has become increasingly frustrated at his lack of artistic progress, especially seeing as Ignusdei seems to have streaked ahead from what he once considered to be artistic inferiority - getting a job at Ironclad Games, then more recently at Eidos Montreal. Because of this Vijil has now signed up for a 2 year intensive course covering 3D, animation, sculpture, matte painting and so on. He intends for this to put him back in his "rightful place" at the top of the Relic forums artistic pecking order. He hopes he is not too lazy to make this a reality.

The Dustwars Documents
These were the original storyline ideas for Homeworld 2, which became legendary as the "real Homeworld 2" after the actual game turned out to be of a lower quality than expected. This was mostly blamed on Sierra for rushing the creation of the game, as well as issues with pathing around the Megaliths. Vijil was responsible for obtaining these original storyline documents which included several different versions of the story from Rob Cunningham, the lead artist and a game designer on the Homeworld series.
Art style
Vijil's artwork when he joined the forums consisted almost entirely of uploaded paintings done with pencil and then coloured in Photoshop. Though talented, he didn't have much in the way of a drive to pursue his art until he came across the work of Rob Cunningham. This helped him to realise that it is in fact reasonable to attempt making a career out of conceptual art. His work is typically jagged, angular, organic and futuristic, as well as being scribbleh. He has noticed in recent years that the style of Rob Cunningham has become somewhat assimilated into his own. He tends to draw robots and spacecraft. The Terran Trade Authority books on which he was weaned are also major factors in his style - these having been partly responsible for his love of the original Homeworld game.
Online Personality
Vijil's presence on the forums was once represented on posts on a variety of the subforums in the form of comments on various topics, and threads in The Studio showcasing his latest piece of work. As of late, his presence has diminished. He was known as the one who first informed the netizens of Bnonn's conversion: he knows Bnonn, Smokering, Kovac, Greymist and a few others in real life as they are all from Hamilton, New Zealand. He is responsible for introducing them to the forums.
