Nob Leader

"'Ere we go..."

In the Ork hierarchy (which appears to be based solely on size and strength), Nobz are second only to the Warboss himself.They are much bigger and more powerful than regular Orks. Nobz are assigned as leaders of individual squads of Ork Boyz. They improve the morale of the squad as well and add a little extra punch to their attack.

Once within 7 range of their target when on Assault stance, Nob Leaders gain a +30% movement bonus to their current base speed, enabling them to quickly close the distance with other units into melee.

Tactics

Nob Leaders provide some excellent early firepower for the Orks but due to poor scaling they are outclassed by the troops they lead by Tier 3.

Initially Nob Leaders are an excellent choice for Slugga Boyz, Shoota Boyz, and Stormboyz alike. They have more health and better armor than regular boyz and significantly more firepower, especially at range. Their maximum morale and morale regen bonuses are also vital for frontline troops who will be taking the brunt of morale-damaging attacks.

As the Ork army grows they will eventually achieve morale immunity from the mob bonus which makes the morale bonus provided by the Nob Leader irrelevant. His melee damage pales in comparison to a Nob armed with a Power Claw. He even takes longer to build than a Nob and Power Claw combined. Although he still provides a worthy addition to Slugga Boyz, Shoota Boyz, and Stormboyz, it is unlikely they will see much action in an Ork army that has access to Nobz with Power Clawz and mighty Flash Gitz.
