Is 20 pounds like 30
From RelicWiki
On Nov. 30, 2004, user Tharkun posted the following question on the Relic Forums:Is 20 pound for the weight like 30 pounds if a guy lifts? No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?
The exact meaning of this question was too much to guess for most, so the thread quickly evolved into spam and mockery. Some quite interesting replies followed:
Reki:
I think its like three to four when lift is over that weight for men when around the work out area. So 20 pounds gym size if the 30 lb lift is under half the required weight of the guy's floor, yeah?
Kheturus:
The answer to your question is Tom Selleck.
Eventually, another post was made by Tharkun, trying to explain. And another.
u take 20 lbs no lifting for 30lb if guy, so divide 2 u dont sit, u get 10 but for guy it no 30, so 20 would be for guy if u werent a girl ?
UMM HOW i word this... ok u take 20 lbs no lifting for 30lb if guy, so divide 2 u dont sit, u get 10 but for guy it no 30, so 20 would be for guy if u werent a girl ?
A further revised version of the question was posted:
I took taken 20 pounds, but for guy 30 LBS, so if u start from HOME (Machine) u want HALF for girl, so 10, but if I work out FIRST, do get I 30 LBS or 20 ?
And still, there was much spammage and mocking. Not much time passed, and the thread had become the RB's own version of "All your base".
The community was shocked, however, to find that the RB were not the first place for the question to be posted. A version has been found that predates Tharkun's post by almost a month[1]. The real origins of the meme are unclear, but it is known to have visited other forums, such as the slickdeals.net forums, and spread from there.
