Characters

Rex Chance

Rex is the central character of the campaign missions. He is a reporter for a newspaper and at the start of the game, he receives a letter from his father, Eric, who he had assumed was dead. Rex sets out to find his father but discovers that he is dead. Rex vows to crush Julius and put an end to his scheme. As the game progresses, it is revealed that Rex was in fact the first product of Sigma Technology, meaning he has some of the abilities of the animals (Poison Touch, Regeneration, etc).

Rex has brown hair and wears a white shirt with a brown waistcoat over it.

Lucy Willing

Lucy Willing is an incredibly intelligent scientist who helped develop the Sigma Technology. She is determined and will do whatever it takes to succeed. During the campaign missions, she can build structures, collect resources, sabotage enemy buildings and steal technology. The story shows that she was good friends with Dr Chanikov, and she also saved Rex when he first arrived on the islands.

Lucy wears a green long-sleeved shirt and black trousers with boots.

Whitey Hooten

Whitey Hooten is the first of Julius's henchmen that you face. His headquarters looks just like a large ship. He is found living on the cold islands of the archipelago. He is feared by the local Inuit, who call him "the big white bear" because of his outfit.

Velika la Pette

Velika la Pette is the second of Julius's henchmen, and is found on temperate/warm islands. She loves flying creatures and she herself flies a gyrocopter. Her headquarters look like a treehouse. The first time we see this character in the campaign, she sets fire to the area surrounding Rex and Lucy.

Otis Ganglion

Otis Ganglion is a mad scientist and the third of Julius's henchmen. He used to be a veterinarian but found he could make more money by combining animals and peddling them to freak shows around the country. He lives on a desert island.

Upton Julius

Upton Julius was the boss to Eric Chanikov and, presumably, Lucy Willing. He is evil and wants to use the Sigma Technology to take over the world. As he says, "The Sigma Technology does much more than cross-breed. It combines fears, compounds terrors..." He is a heavyset man and the last person you face on the campaign.

Dr. Eric Chanikov

Dr Chanikov is the true father of Rex Chance. He developed the Sigma Technology used in the game to combine animals. He dies at the start of the game, before the action proper begins. He worked for Upton Julius and with Lucy Willing.
