History of Relic IRC
From RelicWiki
Relic IRC resided on at least four separate servers before settling in on the Homeworld Community Server.

Forestnet
The original #homeworld existed on Forestnet servers prior to the release of Homeworld. The dates are fuzzy, but likely span from late 1998 to the middle of 1999. Many of the original fads and catchphrases began during the Forestnet era, when community pioneers like Cablecow and Pax were active. Relic developer Rupract (the SpankMaster 3000) was an almost permanent fixture.
Austnet
During #homeworld's time on Austnet, netsplits were encountered frequently. Perhaps as an outlet for frustration over netsplits, #homeworld often engaged in raids on other Austnet channels - #christian and #gaymelbourne being particular favourites.
Telefragged
Relic IRC's stay on the Telefragged servers began with a split between some who preferred to stay on Austnet and others who wanted a different server.
Guidestone
With the assistance of Molle, Relic IRC set up on The Guidestone's server until its eventual destruction via flooding.
Homeworld Community Server
In August of 2003, Xypher created a thread on the Relic Forums to raise money for a dedicated server for the Relic Community. By October and 149 posts, over $1,000 was raised. Once the server was ordered and hosting secured at deadguy's employer XMission, the Homeworld Community Server was online and continues to run to this date.
