Boardwars
From RelicWiki
The Boardwars section is a subforum of The Studio. "Boardwar" is the Relic Forums name for text based roleplaying, in which a number of players participate in a collective story based on a given context. Boardwars most commonly take place in various fantasy or sci fi environments, either using a pre-existing universe or based in an original created one. They are typically orientated around warfare and combat, with player control ranging in different boardwars from a single character to an entire nation.
The boardwars section is moderated by Langy and Rusty and generally supported by a small group of dedicated posters. A boardwar is created and effectively run by one or more Game Masters, who usually advance the plot and deal with issues of power play and metagaming. The GM's word is typically presumed to be final within their boardwar; the mods only step in to deal with incidents of flaming and other misconduct.

Boardwars:
Discoveries of Terrial: The GM was T_55, and the BW came to 493 posts. This BW started on 07-08-2005 at 11:31 PM 2004 and ended on 10-12-2005 at 04:13 PM, and tells the story of the fantasy world of Terrial. It was an example of a character-driven boardwar. This BoardWar has two sequals. 2's GM was Erikjust and the 3rd is currently being hosted by T_55.
The creator of the BW was T_55. The original map of Terrial can be found here. The map was not of very high quality, but was good enough. The majority of the members started in the vicinity of Haverna. This was were the first and only planned event took place, with an army of Goblins. After this event it was revealed that Haverna was built upon an ancient Demon portal. Unfinished.
Galactic War 1: The original GM was AMARDA, later due to time problems he dropped out and was replaced by Sevorak and Lestaki. Galactic War 1 has three different threads associated with it; the original planning thread, the OOC thread and the IC thread. This BW has one sequal. It was an example of a grand strategic sci-fi boardwar, in which players controlled entire galactic empires and fleets of warships. The central plot revolved around the Degrans, a vengeful and immensely powerful race who waged a genocidal campaign on the players. However, there was also a fairly freeform player vs player component, with several notable battles including the essential destruction of AMARDA's empire in retaliation for genocide.
Battle for Medrengard: There are 4 BWs in this series. The first BfM ended miserably, while the second version of it, first created by Imperial Dane and later led by Dark Hunter, was a great success. Having probably the longest BW thread in Relic Forums with 1275 replies, the third version was created by Erikjust and when Dark Hunter was banned from the forum, BrianGeneral took control of the Board War. He soon ended v3 and started v4 himself, which needs revival to continue the story arc. Basically this was army-based, with multi-plots within a line and different events may happen by a single choice of each race.
Start of BfM v2: "This planet was once a Necron Tombworld. But a Chaos Lord came here, without noticing the Necron tomb presense on this planet, he blindly hid two chaos artefact from other Chaos Lords. Years passed, the planet was then colonized by the Imperium. The Imperial blindly build their cities on these cursed planet. The two hidden artefact have been driving the populace mad, some even turns to fight against the Imperium. And now, Chaos has come to calm the artefact at last, a C'Tan came to activate the tombworld and a traitor guardsmen OverLord hunger for power." The v2 concentrated on a planet called Medrengard, of which the loyalists had to deal with the forces of Chaos which twisted the ex-servants of the Emperor while different xenos came for their needs, but then they soon found the terrible truth within the planet and was forced to deal with the Necrons, who were led by the Deciever itself for the artefects, and what's more was that the artefects pulled a Warp Storm towards the planet, and everyone must act fast to destroy the artefect, or escape the catastrophe......
BfM v3 started 20 years later after v2. The loyalists that chose to stay in the Warp Storm, mainly Iron Legion Space Marines, had finally waited for the day when the Warp Storm was cleared. Most of the heroes who escaped the Warp Storm came back and try to do what they didn't finish to do 20 years ago. This is difficult since Sarah, also known as "The Immortal", who sold her body to the C'tan in v2 tried to take back the artefects which was lost when the Warp Storm came. Things went even worse when Lord Katana Terminatus, Chaos Lord of Iron Warriors, came to the planet in order to kill his rival, Chapter Master Franker Lonegonerm of the Iron Legion once and for all, but facing the threat of Necrons all stood together in order to survive. However, they'll soon find that they'll only have one choice with the planet......
BfM v4 started with Tyranid invasion upon the new Medrengard, which Iron Legion took back from Tyranids long before that, but this unnamed planet in the Onon Arm also buried something under the ground of it for Chaos to take notice on, as this thing can destroy the Imperium effectively......
