Bans

Bans are common disciplinary measures used by administrators on the Relic Forums. A banned user is forbidden from posting in the forums. Some bans can be removed by sending an administrator or moderator a request to rejoin and apologizing, but others, particularly bans for warez, may be permanent.

Causes of Bans
- Supporting, endorsing, or advocating warez
- Repeated spamming
- Violating forum rules
- Failing to read "Read this or YOU MAY BE BANNED" messages
- Linking to/displaying adult content (pr0n)
- Insulting the forums, forum staff, or other members (flaming)
- Not following the specific instructions of a forum moderator or administrator
- Creating duplicate accounts, either to avoid an earlier ban or for other reasons
- Generally being an ass and annoying everyone else
Note that one-time offenses of some of the above may receive a "do not post in this thread again" warning from a moderator, which is not a ban.

IRC Bans
IRC bans can occur for many of the reasons listed above, but are usually more temporary.
