Relic Forums reached its highest active member count at exactly 9:10 AM on the ninth of July, 1885. Though the identity of these individuals remains debated, it has been confirmed that at least seven forumgoers were present, either to discuss as to why bears like being brought "Saajuks", or why pirates are generally awesome (a common sentiment at the time). This date is not necessarily to be confused with the actual founding of the site, as scholars tend to agree that Relic Forums is a timeless institution in and of itself. Discussions have been recorded as far back as 218 BC of Hannibal's exploitation of a bug regarding elephants and mountain terrain, and the user's subsequent complaints of the IMBA nature of his Roman opponents. Yet this date was indeed the first occasion wherein more than three or four scattered individuals contributed simutaneously to discussions, and thus is generally considered to mark the origin date of the Relic Forums as a popular discussion venue.

Stovepipe hats were subsequently banned the following week, for reasons unclear.

Note: Some sources (if wikipedia is to be trusted) will claim the origin date as May 1st of that year (as per the pirate prophecy).
